These included: Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Xiaomi Mi3/Mi4, LG G3, Moto G variants (2013-2015), LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S5 and OnePlus 3. The ROMs are ready to download from the CyanogenMod website.
Installing this ROM will remove the current OS on your phone, and replace it with CyanogenMod 14.1 running on Android Nougat 7.1 CM14.1 is pretty much like stock Android, and brings with it features such as more customisation options, Trebuchet launcher experience, LiveDisplay and Expanded desktop.
The Live Display feature changes the colour settings of your smartphone screen depending on the time of the day. The CM 14.1 offers the ability to customise status bars, buttons layouts and power-off menu as well.
CyanogenMod 14.1 will be eventually available for devices that will receive the Android Nougat update very late or not at all. So if you have an old phone, where Nougat doesn’t seem like a possibility, you can think of installing this build.
The ROM can be flashed on your device by simply unlocking bootloader. First go to Settings, then About phone and keep tapping Build number until you get the Developer options in settings. Next, switch on the OEM unlocking toggle. Also, enable the USB Debugging option in Developer options.
Do note that flashing the phone can mean your warranty will be rendered void in some cases, like with newer devices. Remember to check the model number of your device before starting the process. Also, go for a full backup before flashing CM 14.1 ROM on your smartphone. Next, download CM 14.1 ROM and the Google apps package that you wish to install on your phone.
